About dfl43
What is Senate District 43?
Senate District 43 is one of the 67 Senate Districts in Minnesota. The Senate
District is simply the geographical area from which a district’s State
Senators and Representatives are elected. There are 67 State Senators, one
elected from each of the 67 Senate Districts. In each Senate District, there
are two State House of Representative Districts: for example, our Senate District
43 contains House District 43A and 43B. There are 134 State Representatives,
one elected from each of the Senate Districts.
What are Senate District 43’s boundaries?
Senate District 43 consists of Southern Plymouth, Northern Minnetonka and Medicine
Lake. Click this link to see a map of the district to see if you live in our
district. Or go to the Secretary of State’s website to see which Senate
District you live in. It will also tell you
your precinct number and where you’ll go to vote in the next election.
Who represents Senate District 43?
For many years the Plymouth and Minnetonka area was Republicans territory. We
changed that in 2005 when we elected DFL Senator Terri Bonoff who won the 2005
special election won again in 2006. Go to Senator
Terri E. Bonoff (DFL) District 43 to see the Senate site. In 2006, DFL Representative John Benson would win
the 43B House seat John
Benson (DFL) 43B - Minnesota House of Representatives.
The 43A Representative seat is held by Freshman Republican Sarah Anderson who
narrowly won in 2006.
